Emergency Response Details
The current emergency response network was set up in 1999 when emergency response vigils were held around Aotearoa New Zealand in response to the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. It has been activated several times since then, most often in response to missile and bomb attacks on the people of Iraq, as well as to the invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 and of Iraq in 2003. When the network is activated again in the future, the details will be shown on this page.
If you would like to be responsible for the emergency response in your city or town, please email the details to Peace Movement Aotearoa with the subject heading 'Emergency response details'. If you require more information about the emergency response vigils, please contact us and we will send you a message which gives some background information about their purpose, and how you can set them up in your area.
If you would like your vigil, rally or meeting for peace advertised, please send details of your event (including contact details for at least one of the people organising it) to Peace Movement Aotearoa with the subject heading 'For what's on where listings'.
