International terrorism is not the sole province of specific religious or ethnic communities 14 September 2001 "ALRANZ condemns the actions of those who attacked the World Trade Center on September 11. It may seem odd for a pro-choice organisation to uphold calls for strengthened national security and opposition to international terrorism. We have our reasons." Mr Craig Young, Research Officer for ALRANZ said today. "Let us not descend into vacuous Christian supremacism and illusions of false virtue as the Christian Heritage Party has done. Fundamentalist Protestants and conservative Catholics kill doctors within the United States. One murderer of that ilk found sanctuary in France. This goes to show that it is religious fanaticism in general, and not specific ethnic communities and religious groups, that should be subject to these sanctions. The Christian Heritage Party, ACT and New Zealand First should be ashamed of themselves for singling out refugees who have fled the murderous misogynist, racist and xenophobic likes of the Taliban, who have already suffered enough. One hopes that they condemn fellow fundamentalists with as much fervour when "Christian" anti-abortionists kill their next doctor within the United States." Mr.Young concluded. Contact
