Update: NZ Nuclear Free Extension Zone Bill 28 May 2001 PMA The New Zealand Nuclear Free Zone Extension Bill (2000) is still at the Select Committee stage and it is expected it will be reported back to parliament on 5 July 2001. As parliament will be in recess then, it is expected the Bill will come up for its second reading in late July or early August. From mid-July, it would be extremely useful if you could write or fax Helen Clark (Prime Minister), Jim Anderton (Deputy Prime Minister) Cabinet, lobby your local MP and any list MP who lives in your area urging them to vote to pass the Bill at its second (and third!) readings so that it becomes law. Contact details for politicians are listed below the links to more information about the Bill.
