~12th September, from 7pm onwards, the Classic Comedy Club at 321 Queen St hosts 'FUSE', a positive, multi-media performance/dance event grown from opposition to the Apec and free market agenda. Performers include Dj's : Epsilon Blue, Hueman, Jizz, and collaborators: James McCarthy (From Scratch), Lapdog, Mark Harvey (satirical comedy), Unitec dance performance, John Carapiet and Charles Nehu. Door sales are $10 (waged) $7 (unwaged).

~ from 30 August TO 13 Sept - CRISPIN BELTRAN - national speaking tour - will be speaking on the Asian Crisis, Globalisation and APEC : A Filipino Worker's Perspective. Crispin Beltran is the chairman of the KMU (Kilusang Mayo Uno, or May First Movement), the best known Filipino trade union confederation. Beltran has been the KMU leader since the mid 1980s and is a leading figure in the Filipino progressive movement.

~ 2 to 14 September - SAUL LANDAU - national speaking tour - will be here as a guest of the Latin America Committee and part of the Alternative APEC programme. Landau will be able to add another dimension to the globalisation debate, while at the same time giving a Latin perspective to the issues.
