Money is the root of all evil? Money makes the world go round? Yes and no to both. Clearly money is at its most destructive time in history. Yet like all inventions money has the potential to help us live sustainably. At the seminar, there will be short presentations on how debt-based financing is destructive of all nations; the real value and latent potential of money; ethical investments; universal basic income; community banking; and complementary systems both for business (eg. WIR, Bartercard) and communities (eg. Green $, Toronto $, Ithaca Hours). There will be a panel discussion and discussion groups on reform of the present system and on complementary systems. The speakers are Alan Fricker, Roland Sapsford, Prue Hyman, Bruce Dyer, and Deirdre Kent.

The promoters are Sustainable Futures Trust, Proutist Universal, and Pacific Institute of Resource Management. Contact Alan Fricker (04 589 1575 or frickera@actrix.gen.nz) for further information. We would appreciate registration in advance. Cheques payable to Sustainable Futures Trust, and post to 30 Akatea Rd, Petone.
