Please scroll down this page for details of the nationwide peace vigils on Wednesday, 11 November 2015 to mark Armistice Day - these details are available on Facebook here, please share the link on your page, thank you.

The peace vigils are the fourth in the World War One Centenary Peace Project vigil series and have three themes: remembrance of all of the casualties of war and of war resisters, ending war as a response to conflict, and promoting peace. There are four core messages that are the same at all of the vigils, including the central message 'Honour the war dead by ending war', which unites the three themes. The vigils are coordinated by Peace Movement Aotearoa, in association with Quakers, and in conjunction with peace and faith groups here and in other parts of the world who are holding peace vigils to mark the World War One centenary and to highlight our mutual belief that conflict must be resolved peacefully rather than by war. More information about the peace vigil series is available here, and information about the three themes and the messages of the vigils is available here. If you would like to be involved in organising a future peace vigil in your area, please contact Peace Movement Aotearoa.
