QPS: Local Peace Grants and Loxley Award

This page has information about the next round of the Quaker Peace & Service Aotearoa New Zealand (QPSANZ) Local Peace Grants, and the Loxley Award for 2011.

QPSANZ invites applications for grants of up to $500 to assist with non-violent local peace work anywhere within Aotearoa New Zealand. The next deadline for applications is 31 October 2010.

• applicants need not be Quakers;

• preference is given to work which is new and/or innovative in content - a one-off occasion (constructing a mobile peace stall, printing/ advertising, inter-faith peace conference, peace/green fair, non-violence training day) or for a longer project (eg. restorative justice or a new organisation);

• the deadlines for Local Peace Grants are 30 April (grants decided in May) and 31 October (grants decided in November) each year.

QPSANZ invites applications for the Loxley Award for 2011 - a grant of up to $10,000 established to assist New Zealand Quakers or non-Quakers to undertake a study programme or project of their choosing, in New Zealand or abroad, which promotes understanding of peace, justice and environmental issues. Applications close on 31 October 2010.
