Postgraduate Diploma, MA and PhD in
Are you interested in making the world more just, sustainable, peaceful and compassionate? If so, you might be interested in studying at the National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Otago. The Centre is New Zealand's only postgraduate theory, research and practice programme in peace and conflict studies; information about the Center is available here. We are pioneering peaceful pedagogy and collaborative research and practice programmes. Our 2010 Foundation Class had students from all around the world and we have a cosmopolitan faculty.
If you have a First Class or Upper Second Class Postgraduate Diploma, Honours or Masters degree and would like to do advanced postgraduate research in Peace and Conflict Studies, we are currently recruiting postgraduate research students from all around the world. We are looking for students who can reinforce existing research and practice strengths within the Centre but will contemplate proposals that are in cognate areas as well. We have some grants in aid available to support Master's level research and some Centre Scholarship assistance to those wishing to do a PhD. Otago has a very generous post graduate scholarship scheme. All students who apply to the Centre for the PhD will be automatically considered for Otago University's Doctoral Scholarship. If you are interested in studying at the Centre in 2011, please contact Ann Hassan, Centre Administrator, email or tel (03) 479 4546 - general enquiries about Masters and PhD research should be made by 30 October 2010. |
