Archive: Support for Peacemakers abducted in Baghdad

Harmeet Sooden, valued friend and colleague, was abducted with James Loney, Norman Kember, and Tom Fox in Baghdad on 26 November 2005.

We add our voice to the calls from around the world for the Peacemakers to be released unharmed so they can return to their loved ones and continue their work for peace, justice and self-determination for the people of Iraq and Palestine. We call too for the thousands of people illegally detained by occupation forces in Iraq, in Palestine, in Afghanistan, and in other parts of the world to be released unharmed to their loved ones.

Harmeet, our heartfelt hope is that you and your companions will soon be free to read this page for yourselves. We are full of sorrow that Tom will not be with you physically on that happy day.

Our thoughts are with you all, with your families and friends, and with the staff and supporters of Christian Peacemaker Teams at this time.
