What started out in Australia as a National Day of Action for Aboriginal Justice - focused on the ongoing crisis of Aboriginal deaths in custody and the federal government's invasion of the Northern Territory - has become an international day of solidarity, with rallies and marches planned around the world on Saturday, 14 July.

Stop the invasion of aboriginal communities, rally and march in solidarity with the indigenous peoples of Australia's Northern Territory! Come and support our Aboriginal brothers and sisters as we join in the International Day of Action: Stop Aboriginal Genocide on Stolen Aboriginal Land. "Under the cynical guise of protecting indigenous children from sexual abuse, the Howard government announced on Thursday a 'national emergency plan' to take control of dozens of Aboriginal communities throughout the Northern Territory and impose virtual martial law conditions. Tent Embassy, on the International Day of Action in solidarity with Aboriginal Communities - stand (and sit) in solidarity with Aboriginal Communities in the Northern Territory in opposition to the Australian Federal government's military invasion, land confiscation and continued genocide. "We support the rights of Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory and throughout Australia to control their land, determine their own lives and resolve issues within their communities on their terms. We are seeking to provide an open space where people can inform themselves on and discuss these issues, as well as the issues of Aboriginal and indigenous sovereignty generally.
