Is peace in the Middle East possible? Anna Baltzer: Wellington and Auckland, 4 to 8 November 2010
Hear the surprising answer from award-winning speaker Anna Baltzer, who will be speaking and presenting a training workshop in Wellington on 4 and 6 November respectively, and speaking in Auckland on 8 November - see details for each event below. Please note that you must RSVP by 31 October if you wish to attend the training workshop in Wellington as there are a limited number of spaces. Anna Baltzer is a former Fulbright scholar, Columbia University graduate, author, grand-daughter of Holocaust refugees, and recent guest on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Baltzer will present eyewitness reports on the conflict and the exciting nonviolence movement for peace. She will be signing copies of her acclaimed book, Witness in Palestine: A Jewish American Woman in the Occupied Territories at each event. Raised with a traditional view on the issue, Anna's perspective changed when she moved to the West Bank to work with nonviolent Palestinians and Israelis. Her courageous voice for coexistence and insistence on honest reporting has led to more than 200 television appearances and lectures at more than 500 universities, churches, synagogues, mosques, think tanks, and other policy institutes around the world. She serves on the Board of Directors of The Research Journalism Institute, Grassroots Jerusalem, and The Council for the National Interest. Organised by Wellington Palestine Group, Vic Students for Palestine and Aotearoa Jews for Justice; more information is available on the A4 flyer here. * Saturday, 6 November Educating your Community about Palestine in an Effective and Non-Alienating Way, a speaker training workshop presented by Anna Baltzer, award-winning full-time lecturer and speaker trainer who will give her acclaimed presentation about the conflict and what you can do to bring peace and justice to Israel/Palestine. "When I first returned from Palestine, I had acquired a wealth of knowledge and experiences that I was desperate to share with others, but I didn't know how to design and deliver a presentation, and I didn't know who would listen." (2005) Since then, Anna has given more than 500 presentations and interviews about Palestine (with invitations multiplying after each event!).
